" Ed passed away peacefully on December 29, 2019. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, and his children, Corey and Jamie, his grandchildren, Thomas and Katie. He is also survived by his brother Jim, and by his previously deceased parents, Harrison and Callie Baer. Ed enjoyed all the local sports teams, an avid Redskins and Nationals fan (and always a Senators fan); we listened to many a game on the radio (despite static, occasionally!). He actively participated with our daughters in their sports endeavors. And, starting over, watching Thomas play soccer now.
For years he played softball, coached softball and soccer, and got out for golf when he could. He worked for Frito Lay for over 35 years, had numerous stories from some of the characters he met, and loved it. He never really found a lot to do in his early retirement until our grandson and then, granddaughter, came to live with us."
There have been no family member details saved.
To Ed's family from a former Yorktown Class of '70, we will miss seeing Ed at our 50th reunion (postponed to sometime in 2021). Ed was always a good friend to me and many others who knew him from elementary school thru Yorktown. Many knew Ed as a warm and friendly guy who was quick with a smile.
