"Jim earned his Bachelor’s degree from Stevens Institute of Technology. After graduating, he moved to Fredericksburg and began working on the naval base in Dahlgren. Later, he went back to school and earned his Master’s degree from VA Tech. Following his time at Tech he returned to the base where he remained for a total of 37 years. For Jim, science was fun and he truly enjoyed not just his work, but his coworkers as well!
Jim had a heart for the Lord, and was very grateful for the gift of salvation. He spent many years teaching Sunday School and being involved in the AWANA program which combines games and scripture memory for children. More recently, he enjoyed mentoring young people at the “Kid’s Club” at his church.
One of Jim’s greatest joys was simply spending time with his family. Because of this, they spent many hours just walking or eating out together because those were the times that conversation flowed with few distractions. He will always be remembered as a gentle soul, and a very devoted family man.
