"Brenda Mawyer, 63, of Luray County, passed away August 5, 2018 at Winchester Hospital.

She was a beautiful soul who made time to always care for others. Her life’s journey took her down many paths, some harder than others, but her strong will and fighting spirit never let anything keep her down. Many of Brenda’s friends and family will tell you that she was the strongest woman they knew. She had three passions in life and they were her children, her grandchildren, and her horses.

Brenda is survived by her husband, Samuel Mawyer; two sons, David Paul McQuillan V, and Donald Scott McQuillan; one sister, Ann Simpson; and her seven grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Don and Beatrice Bowmen; two brothers, Irvine Havenner, and Wayne Havenner; and son, Timothy Wayne Bowmen.

A memorial service for Brenda will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, August 18, 2018 at Reynolds Memorial Baptist Church, 3748 Sperryville Pike, Sperryville VA 22740.
